Hallway Closet Shape Up

I’ve been meaning to get a handle on my second-floor hallway closet for a while now. When we moved into our home, I didn’t really give it that much thought in terms of organization. After all, I was in my first trimester and sick as a dog. Essentially, it was a dumping ground for extra bath linen, bed linen, toiletries, etc. Recently, I decided to give it an overhaul. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

The top shelf is fairly empty right now, so I can use it for additional storage one day. Currently, the top shelf has a few place mats I picked up from Target for less than two bucks each! The second shelf houses bed linens. I learned a great trick from the ladies of The Home Edit to store sheets in their accompanying pillowcase.

The third shelf contains table linens. I purchased the baskets and clips from Amazon. I have one basket for table cloths, another for table runners, and one more for napkins and napkin rings.

The fourth shelf stores extra toiletries for guests such as shampoo, toothbrushes, floss, razors, etc. It’s always nice to have extra products like these on hand so your guests don’t have to run out and purchase something they forgot. I picked up the containers from the bathroom section at my local Target

The next shelf contains extra toilet paper, hand towels, and washcloths. I grabbed these bins at my local Marshalls. The sixth shelf houses what I like to call “Beach/Summer Fun” items. I keep my beach towels, beach bags/accessories, and my sweet girl’s kiddie pool and beach pail here.

Finally, the bottom shelf stores bath towels. I snagged these bins from my local Marshalls and tried to keep the guest towels color coordinated—gray and white only.

I completely foresee re-working this closet in the future as my daughter gets older. Think craft supplies, etc. But for now, this will do!
